Philosophy of Care
My approach to care is always client centered. I tailor the structure of the appointment to the needs of the client and strive to inspire their participation. The client is encouraged to share what they feel is working and what is not. I can take on a more active role or be more of a listener, whatever my client may needs to assist them on their path to achieve mental wellness.
Professional Focus
My usual techniques include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Strengths Based Approach and Motivational Interviewing, but I am flexible in determining what might work best for each client. I enjoy treating teens and adults. My specific interests include veterans, substance abuse, mood disorders, neurodiversity and sexual wellness. I provide LGBTQ-affirming, trans-inclusive and gender diverse care. I am bilingual in Spanish and culturally sensitive. I am hearing impaired and utilize hearing devices. Having worked as a therapist for over 30 years, I endeavor to incorporate my knowledge and experience in sessions to help obtain desired outcomes.
Fun Facts
I am extremely passionate about volunteering and animal rescue. I have my own large pack of pups and one lone kitty. I enjoy reading, tattoos, veganism and accessorizing with glasses. I am a native New Yorker, Brooklyn specifically, but have resided on the beautiful Treasure Coast for more than a decade.
