As the population of Indian River County continues to grow, access to critical medical care continues to be a challenge. To remedy this, TCCH is expanding our footprint in Oslo and the western area of IRC.
With the addition of two new centers, TCCH will be able to increase the number of patients we see by 54%. The greatest impact will be among the pediatric population, where we will ultimately be able to provide care for nearly 18,000 children, or 72% of the pediatric population, in IRC.
The new West and Oslo centers will also provide additional stability for IRC through newly-created positions and facilitating a community-focused environment with other IRC-based organizations.
The new Treasure Coast Community Health centers’ success hinges on the support of our community and generous donors. Together, we can build healthy futures and strengthen the fabric of IRC for generations to come.
In September of 2025, TCCH opened a 17,000 square-foot medical facility in the western portion of the county. This center offers pediatrics, primary care, behavioral/mental health, as well as lab, x-ray, and pharmacy services in what is considered to be a “healthcare desert”.
Construction of the West Health Center was made possible through the generous support of longtime TCCH friends Walter and Lalita Janke, and with financing provided by the Florida Community Loan Fund through the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Program, with investment from U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation.
Recognizing Oslo’s position as home to the largest pediatric population in Indian River County, with many children living in poverty, Treasure Coast Community Health has embarked on a transformative initiative to develop a new, state-of-the-art, 20,000+ square foot comprehensive healthcare center dedicated to pediatrics.
This innovative facility will provide preventive and specialty healthcare as well as pediatric physical, occupational, and speech therapy; dental care; and behavioral/mental health services. To enhance access and support for families, we will offer healthcare navigation, clinical care coordination, and lactation support. Additionally, we will house the Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition on-site, an organization committed to reducing infant and maternal mortality through education and support for mothers, babies, and families.
Scheduled to open in 2026, the Oslo Pediatric Center is expected to serve nearly 18,000 additional children, more than doubling the number of pediatric patients currently seen across all TCCH facilities. This comprehensive healthcare solution aims to meet the urgent needs of our community, fostering healthier futures for our youngest residents.
