Philosophy of Care

My philosophy of care is to treat each patient with an individualized approach because health care is not a one-size fits all. I aim to learn about what my patients’ goals, fears, and expectations and are prior to treatment so we can work to create a space where a patient feels informed, empowered and involved in the diagnosis and treatment process. I want to ensure a patient understands the “why” behind dental disease(s), and I focus on prevention through small, realistic changes.  I recognize that patients may oftentimes feel intimidated or vulnerable at the dentist, so I strive to change that script and make it a welcoming experience and safe environment for each individual in my operatory.

Professional Focus

I genuinely enjoy all aspects of dentistry and all patient populations. I thrive when my patients are as invested in their care as I am. I find many people of all ages and backgrounds put themselves off to prioritize others – sometimes it is parents, caretakers, veterans, victims of accidents or domestic violence, cancer survivors, people who have been just trying to get by – and it’s rewarding when they are able to recognize that they, too, are deserving of dental care and it is a right for them to have access to that care. I make interdisciplinary care, the oral-systemic connection, mental health, and conquering dental anxiety each a priority in my practice.

Fun Facts

I like having hobbies as my hobby… meaning I don’t commit to a single hobby long enough to excel in it, but I’ll dabble in anything. I can often be found petting any animal in sight, so please tell your pet I said, “Hi.” I love spending time with my church community, outdoor walks, and a good art and craft. I venture to explore the world, eat great food I don’t have to cook, and tear up a dance floor (so don’t hesitate to invite me to your wedding). C’est la vie!
